So, the next morning, May 11, 2013, we once again woke up excited to see where the day would take us HOPING we'd actually make it off-island today!!!!
This time when we arrived at the terminal on Futenma, there was definitely hub-bub in spite of the drizzle!!!! And, sure enough, there was a plane headed to Iwakuni!!
See, one of the Divisions based on Okinawa, had some groups based on Iwakuni. They had had a Division change of command and had brought some of those Marines to Okinawa for the ceremony and they were headed back to Iwakuni today. We were given the only seats left!

Now to get to our room and get checked in, get in touch with some friends stationed here, then make arrangements and a plan for our sight-seeing for the next few days!!!
