Itokazu Castle site

We began our supposed-to-be-off-island-but-the-flight-was-cancelled adventure by heading to the southeast section of the island on our way to Tamagusuku-jo, when one of those lovely Okinawan "adventure this way" signs caught our eye...
 Itokazu Castle Site 300m....
The day was young, so to the right we went!!
And ended up on this little dirt road!

According to some of my reading, this is the third-largest fortress on island following Shuri and Katsuren, covering about 66,000 square meters (about 2.5 square miles).

You can see why its referred to as a "dancing dragon"!

The views from here are fantastic!!

I thought the wildlife was lovely.

Ok, ready to get back on the road for our actual destination!

My info of Itokazu came from:
