Hiroshima Travels

Hiroshima.....
We saw this cool decoration section of the Kintai Bridge in the median on our way to get our train tickets to Hiroshima with Travis and his folks who allowed us to tag along again today.

It was not until later in the day that I realized the fountain looked like an atomic bomb blast....

We went under this walkway decorated with cranes to get to the city train to take us to the iconic dome.

Trains were a great and easy way to get all around the city. It was interesting to see grass in this train stop running between the two traffic lanes.

What are the chances two American Baptist preachers would end up in a conversation with a Japanese Baptist preacher?? Pretty good, it seems!!

After seeing the dome (see following post), we went to lunch, then Rodney and I proceeded to explore the Peace Parks while the others headed back home.

The following pictures are random shots from our day...

And, now you know...and knowing is half the battle!!

We decided they couldn't read the language!

After our day's adventures, took the opportunity to take a bullet train ride on the Shinkansen back to Iwakuni.
It was about an hour and a half train ride to Hiroshima, but only about 45 minutes back!

"If you open this cover, you will be inquired by crew."

Yep, it was a good day!!
