The train stations are busy!!
Kyoto Station houses 15 stories of shops, eateries and other services!!
Outside the station is a hub of buses bound for various tourist spots around the area which made transit a breeze!!
The fact our hotel was right across the street sure helped, too! Our hotel was the skinny building to the immediate left of the Kyoto Tower.
The bottom 2-3 floors of the Kyoto Tower Hotel are shopping and food!
We found an Auntie Anne's in the train station shopping!!
Hotel Hokko Club Kyoto
A budget (but clean!) no-frills hotel room...
A person has to time opening the room door and the bathroom door very carefully or someone will get bonked in the head!!
The sink shares the faucet with the shower!
"Dear Guests
Please use the toilet paper to the last minute.
It helps us conserve resources."
"washed up
This cup has been washed. Be relived, and use it."
Even 'no-frill' in Japan still provides service!!
Slippers to use at the hotel and a pair to take with you and I was allowed to choose two free gifts, a "pure bliss of aroma" bubble bath and "Relax Pad" toe spreader.
Rodney gave the stand-up ironing board in the hallway a try.
Want to watch TV? Purchase a card from the machine and insert in this device next to the TV in your room!
The machine says Y1000 for pay TV programs. We weren't sure if that was needed to simply watch TV or for pay movies. We decided for ~$10 it wasn't really worth trying to find out, since most of them would be in Japanese anyway!
