Senbon Torii
Thousands of toriis.....
...all donated by individuals and companies.
According to http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3915.html, donations range from Y400,000 to more than one million yen (~$3500 - $8500) depending upon the size of torii you'd want your name on.

If only the guy beyond me would be satisfied with one of his almost ten shots and move along!!
We made our return trip along the opposite path and meandered the village outside the shrine before catching the train back to Kyoto Station and our hotel.
