Tokyo DiverCity Plaza

After getting checked into our hotel, it was still early enough in the afternoon to take one of the resort buses to Maihama Station where we could catch a train/subway to DiverCity. See, we had done our research and discovered they had a Krispy Kreme there!!!

Maihama Station
Following the walkway will take you to "The TOWN." Both parks are in walking distance from here, as well. We went into the station to the ticket machines to get our train tickets.

But, first, we had to decipher the map!!
Thankfully, this portion was in both Japanese and English!

Waiting for our train :)

There are four different train lines that run through different areas and we needed to ride two of them for this outing, which meant we had to get another set of tickets! This one was a bit trickier in that the map was only in Japanese, so we had to play "match the character" to find our stop :)
But, again thankful that the machines have an "English" button to aide in the actual purchase!!

We both thought this building was an example of some real cool Japanese architecture!

Confirmation---we rode the right trains!!
And, surprise, surprise--not only do they have a Krispy Kreme, they have an Auntie Anne's!!!!!!

They also have this GIANT "Gundam"!
Gundam is a robot from the Japanese anime series.

As expected.....PACKED!!
Of course, since we're here on a Sunday, pretty much the only day many of them have off from work, I didn't expect any different.

A "Hello Kitty" store!
You can purchase these adorable cream filled pastry Hello Kitties or dried squid and octopus tentacles......

I opted for the pastries!!
I chose the box of eight... four with chocolate and four with custard(ish).

Yeah, that's what the store's called.....!!!

Then it was time to find some lunch (and TRY to find a seat!!) at the food court.
Later we found some Western food places on one of the upper floors (i.e. McDonald's and Subway), but not knowing those were there...

...we chose from among the Japanese places.

Katu Don
pork cutlet over rice w/ onions and egg
Both 'sets' also came with a soda and broth soup.

Katu Curry
pork cutlet over rice w/ curry sauce

I really wanted to try a Curry & Cheese Pretzel from Auntie Anne's, but the line was much longer than I cared to wait :)

But, Rodney was willing to wait no matter how long to choose his birthday Krispy Kremes!!!

One happy "tomorrow's my birthday" boy!!!
