Nago Sakura (Cherry) Blossom Festival

On Saturday, we took a tour up to Nago City for the Cherry Blossom Festival. The festival was pretty much like a street fair.

There were your typical games of 'pop the balloon' and 'shoot the cup.'
This little guy was helping his family by collecting tickets kids traded in for their prizes.

And even in Japan a fair is not a fair without LOTS of food...
(I believe you should be able to click on the picture to enlarge it, then you can look closely at the menus!!)

There were lots of noodle and rice dishes and many meat choices, but instead of squid-on-a-stick, we bought a small order of fries....

....from this guy :)
And some Jamaican Jerk chicken...
...off this grill/smoker!
And, as the sign states, it truly was "Yammy!!"
(Gotta love that 'Engrish'!)

And, of course, what festival would be complete without a parade!
And, of course, since its a Cherry Blossom Festival, its a parade of dancing cherry blossoms :)

My next couple of posts will show some of the beautiful cherry blossoms along the 750 step climb up the mountain to the shrine and some shots of Nago City!
