Miyajima Mt. Misen (con't)

After enjoying the break at the Lovers Sanctuary, it was time to continue on the trail (and stairs!) up to the observatory!

From our vantage point along the trail, that looked like a fabulous secluded beach!!!

One of a handful of "halls" along the loop.

Talk about up close and personal!! He was all nestled in beside that rock right at eye level along the path!!

A kind fellow sojourner took a photo for us!

At one of the little halls/shrines was this 'prayer board'. People would write their prayer or good wishes on a piece of paper and tie it to the wire or write it on a wooden plaque and hang it on one of the pegs.

A cool rock archway along the path!

Inside one of the halls

More picturesque views!!

I was being followed by this guy for a little while!

I wish I knew the meaning of stacking the stones. We had seen these many places along the way. This one was on the porch of one of the little buildings.

The final climb to the observatory!!
Spectacular and completely worth the trek!!

Ready to head back down the mountain.
"If the car stops due to electric stoppage etc., there is no danger. Please wait quietly."
Something tells me, if we had had electric stoppage, Rodney would NOT have waited quietly!!! Just thankful we didn't have to find out!!

He survived the ride!!
