WING Spouse "Conference"

The week after Thanksgiving, the Wing Chaplains had an on-island conference which meant we got to meet two other Wing Spouses stationed on the mainland and in Hawaii!! So, with visiting spouses on the island, we decided to have our own "conference"...... sight-seeing conference, that is!! ;o)

Our first day's adventure was a monorail ride to explore Kokusai Street!

And we couldn't experience Kokusai Street without taking a peek in the Underground Market!

Then, of course, we had to eat sometime, so we found this little noodle shop and had more new experiences!

A look inside the noodle shop

My lunch set contained fried rice, salad with salad dressing--yes, literally salad dressing, as in mayonnaise!! The main dish was ramen with two slices of pork, seaweed and green onions. To wash it down, a little bottle of Yakult drinking yogurt! The fried rice, noodles, and pork were tasty, but the broth was a bit fishy.

My dear friend, Diane, was a brave taster that day!!

Little A ate those noodles UP!! Even with one chopstick :)

The next day was a day to spoil ourselves with pedicures! This is an annual event for all the ChapSpouses the day before the Chaplain Corps Birthday Ball.
(This is only a small group of the island ChapSpouses. There was another group at another location.)

Decisions, decisions, decisions.... pages and pages and trays and trays of designs to choose from!!

There's also tasty herbal tea to drink and ice cream with corn flakes to eat---surprisingly yummy!!

Our finished products!!
(My Christmas toes are bottom center :o)

We followed our pedis with lunch at Yoshi's.

I chose the Yoshi Sushi plate.

Yoshi was gracious enough to allow his picture to be taken with us. One of his workers took the pictures and after she took one, he pipes up "Uno mas! Uno mas, por favor!" Then as we're leaving, "Gracias, gracias!" It's quite humorous to hear a Japanese speaking Spanish!!

I just HAD to take these pics in his place!! Can you guess why??

Yep, Texan Santa!!

So, any of my Texas friends ever heard of "Hurricane Mike"??

The last morning of our "conference" a few of us helped out getting the tables completed for the ball. Then it was run back home and start getting all gussied up for the ball that evening!!!!
