Chaplains visit Korea

As part of their conference, the Wing Chaplains made a trip to Korea to visit the DMZ!

The blue buildings are in South Korea, the gray center building is in North Korea.

Notice the South Korean guards standing at the corners of the blue buildings? See how they are standing mostly behind the building? It makes them a smaller target.
And they always wear sunglasses to help hide their emotions from the North Koreans.

The two guards facing each other are standing just inside North Korea; the border being shown by the concrete "curb" by their feet. They have two guards on duty, watching each other, so as to keep either from stepping over the border to defect!!

North Koreans came out to watch and take pictures of the visitors in South Korea.

The "Bridge of No Return" ..... the name says it all..... if you cross that bridge into North Korea, you do not return.....ever.

Looking down at the bridge into North Korea. Their landscape is very barren since they've cut down most of their trees for firewood.
