I've had the chance to take a couple of Okinawa Art & Culture classes. Just thought I'd share my products...
The first class I attended was to make Obi Ornaments. An obi is the sash/belt the Japanese ladies wear over their kimono; the big bow would be on their back.
Then, I made an origami flower ball.
It came in a kit, but since the instructions were written in Japanese, our teacher demonstrated how to fold the flowers, of which we had to fold 34!
The next step was to hot-glue 10 sets of 3, then create two hemispheres, and finally fill in the spaces with the extra flowers. I thought it turned out pretty much like the one on the kit; I was proud of myself :)
I plan to attend as many of the different classes as I can!
Very pretty!!!
