Other Adventures with Jaclyn (and the Baileys)!!

We enjoyed a day's adventure with the Baileys visiting Pineapple Park and the Aquarium!!

Me and my birthday besties!!

As did Jaclyn and me!

Then, Clark and Olivia took turns driving us through the pineapple fields....

...where we saw "Kinds of Pineapples"!!

Never did figure out what kind of pineapple this one was, though!

After the fields, it's into "Studio Tida" which houses a quite impressive collection of different kinds of sea shells!

Then, it was off to the aquarium...

Along the way, Jaclyn took advantage of the van's sunroof to snap a couple of pics of the fabulous topiary used as advertisement for the aquarium!

 

 

 

Jaclyn got to see the gorgeous view of the aquarium's entrance plaza...

She got to "ride" a shark...

She got to touch some cool starfish...

She got to see her favorite animal, the sea turtle...

She got to see this little cutie pie...

And saw her first squatty-potty!!

Then, at McDonald's...

...she got to see her first real life 'engRish'!!
Yep-- "love such ME"!!

More Adventures with Jaclyn

For one of our adventures, we followed Highway 6....

...to the see the Hollywood sign by Malibu Beach.

Jaclyn found a new yummy drink "Aquarius" and made up her own song for it!

While combing the beach we got to see some wonderful sites, like the couple behind me getting their wedding pictures taken! They had either just gotten married, or getting ready to get married in that lovely wedding chapel!

We also got to see a dragon boat out on the water!!

Of course, I think this was a precious site, too!!

Not to mention these precious ones!!

Then we made a stop at Maeda Point.....

There was actually a rip current in effect, so they'd posted warnings.

Not sure what this little guy was pointing to, but he sure was cute!!

Then it was off to Zanpa Point...
 

Check out these brave fishermen!!

Around the corner from Zanpa Point is a park with a petting zoo....

...and a giant Shisa.

On our run to Kokusai Street...

...I made her take the traditional "I'm a beni-imo tart" picture!!

And we had to visit the Underground Market!

After our visit to Peace Prayer Park...

...we tasted some Okinawa donuts and made friends with Buddha!!!

 

Adventures with Jaclyn

One of our first adventures was exploring the "Northern Kingdom"! I took her up to the Courtney area to see my "old" stomping grounds ;o)

We wandered on Tengan Beach....

...and Courtney Beach where she learned the pleasure and excitement of sea glassing!!

 

 

 

While up there, I introduced her to miso ramen...

...which she loved!!

On our adventure to Nakamura House,
she enjoyed the green tea...

...but, not so much the brown sugar jello.
It's a texture thing ;)

We enjoyed Nakagusuku Castle site!!

 

The field behind the site is great place to sit, relax, and evidently sneak pics of your friend!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

When Diane asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday, my easy response was "get my toes done" considering here it was February and I was still sporting my "Christmas toes"!! ;o)
Her response--let's do it!! So, then here stands Jaclyn and I started to be concerned, but, of course, Diane knew to make reservations for THREE!!

So, that's how we spent our morning......

 

Then we took a stroll along the seawall...

 

For my birthday dinner, I chose Four Seasons Teppenyaki.....

I ordered chicken and (melt-in-your-mouth) Kobe beef for Jaclyn and me to share.
(Diane wasn't able to join us :(

Her first attempt at eating rice with chopsticks and she did it like a pro!!!
It was a fabulous birthday!!
